    There is a classic story about a politician who went to talk to a group of Native Americans: During the course of his free-ranging talk with the tribal leaders, the politician launched into a fiery litany about how immigration was threatening to divide and destroy the nation. The politician vowed to make the issue his No. 1 priority: all illegal immigrants, he promised, would be expelled. The Native Americans cheered. "When do we get our land back?" they asked.
