  • FT Graphic Designer

    Can you run InDesign in your sleep? Are you a wizard with PhotoShop? Do you love conceptualizing design and page layout? Do you geek out on infographics? Does ad design get you excited? Are you interested in digital design?.

    Looking for a FT graphic designer to complement a talented, tight, established production team and work heavily with our editorial, advertising, online and marketing departments. Must be excessively skilled in Adobe Creative Suite programs, uber creative, a great communicator, flexible and driven.

  • FT Advertising Account Executive

    The Indy wants you—to sell advertising (print and online).

    Then you must be a rockin’ sales person. Like 2+ years experience selling print, broadcast and/or online advertising. As always you must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, be self-motivated and have bad-ass communication skills.

    Your job, should you choose to accept it (and us you) is to service and grow existing customers as well as finding and signing new advertisers. New business development is a KEY FUNCTION of this position. You should also have a vehicle that will get you where you need to go.

  • Arts & Entertainment Reporter

    Are you someone who can’t miss local theatre shows, art openings, concerts, book signings, comedy shows, brewery tours, and all the other incredible events taking place every night in the region? Ideal candidates will have experience in both cultural and digital journalism and must be able to generate and craft both short- and long-form stories that resonate with our readers.

  • Marijuana/At Large Reporter

    A unique opportunity to cover all the news and controversies surrounding the first state in the union to legalize recreational marijuana — from a city with a thriving medical marijuana industry. Additional news reporting and blogging will be required, but your primary focus will be in-depth coverage of the cannabis industry as well as what consumers need to know about marijuana.

    Ideal candidates are fluent in narrative nonfiction, know how to cultivate a wide array of sources, spend time in the community talking to the players — big and small — and have the desire to tell stories that matter. Must be comfortable with short weekly notes, medium length news stories and long form feature packages.

    Magazine or newspaper experience preferred but exceptional entry-level rock stars may be considered. Again, this position is focused on marijuana reporting but we encourage someone with range who is just as comfortable covering local news and entertainment.

    Entry-level position for a detail-oriented, tech-savvy person who will inform our 142,000 regular print and digital readers about the best theatre shows, art openings, concerts, book signings, comedy shows, brewery tours, etc. Can you unearth amazing events we’ve never heard of?   • Digital Media/Marketing Interns

    Now recruiting for 2015. Collaborate with the Indy’s Director of Marketing and Promotions to support the organization’s marketing strategy. Learn how to craft and evaluate social media campaigns. Capture compelling stories through strong writing, stunning images, and sensational video. Coordinate video schedule and production; provide blogging/social media support. This internship is a part-time position for academic credit. 2-3 days (15-20 hours a week) Job requirements: Ability to learn and use new technology, Interest in social media, Video or digital content editing skills, Marketing, Digital Media, or Journalism background strongly preferred.     Now recruiting for Summer 2015. Join the newsroom and create content for the print issue and the IndyBlog. Brainstorm, report and write stories in News, A&E or both. Get constructive feedback and hone your writing voice. Be part of a laid-back but professional work environment where you’ll learn from the people around you. Come away with clips, real-world experience and a free lunch or two. This internship is a part-time position, with academic credit available. 2-3 days (15 to 20 hours per week).
