The Colorado Springs Independent, the largest locally owned newspaper and media company serving the Pikes Peak region, is the "alternative voice" providing in-depth news and cultural reporting desperately needed in our heavily evangelical, military and Republican region.
As our sales, print and web readership have grown due to both internal growth as well as recent acquisitions, we need an inspiring, systematic, experienced hands-on leader to oversee all revenue generation at the Colorado Springs Independent, our companion websites, newsletters and specialty publications.

This new position will oversee the look, voice and feel of all editorial, sales and marketing creative for our six flagship print/digital publications as well as all of our social media, community service and contract publishing initiatives.
Your mission will be to lead our talented team of graphic designers, marketing professionals, freelance photographers and outside vendors to produce high quality, strategically grounded design.

Looking for someone with at least 2 yrs (print, broadcast or online) ad sales exp. Should be detail oriented, able to multi-task, self-motivated, and have solid verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to service (& grow) existing customers while getting new advertisers. New business development is a key function of this position. Should have a vehicle that will get you around town & being an avid Indy reader is a plus.

We're looking for college students interested in spending the Fall 2013 semester writing, researching and otherwise toiling in the Independent's editorial department. Requirements include a commitment to 15 to 20 hours of office time per week, a positive attitude, and an interest in pursuing a career in journalism. Now recruiting for Fall 2013. Collaborate with the Indy’s Director of Marketing and Director of Digital Media to support the organization’s marketing strategy. Learn how to craft and evaluate social media campaigns. Capture compelling stories through strong writing, stunning images, and sensational video. Coordinate video schedule and production; provide blogging/social media support.
