Nice work, Ranger Rick. One of your better recent pieces.
I attended Brian's first Beer Olympics, and let my teammates convince me to be anchor man in the chugging relay. I had to race other competitors to gulp a 64-oz goldfish bowl of beer. It was more than my stomach, esophagus and throat could physically hold (capacity-wise). The end-result was not so much puking as just leaning forward and pouring the excess beer out of myself.
One factor the editorial doesn't mention is that the according to reports that the protesters have not contested, the protesters marched under false pretenses; their group was entered in the parade not as anti-war protesters but under the auspices of the business/organization of one of their members. While this story does raise some valid issues, I think the protesters' case would have a lot more validity if they hadn't deceived parade organizers.
Well said, Ralph. You nailed it with the comment that people here want less taxes but expect more service.
