Re: “Letters

CSaction, you seem interested in blaming only about half of the people responcible. Maybe you should widen your world view a bit and see who else is to blame...

According to the media from across the pond Alan Greenspan, Bill Clinton and the rest of Congress need some of that tar and those feathers you are getting ready as well as the usual suspects you trot out.

Re: “Culture smash: Sex and the City 2

So Justin, with that level of angst you've got I'm guessing you were a virgin until your thirties. Dude, it's a movie not a documentary on modern metrosexualism. Get over yourself and review the movie on it's merits, not it's lack of connection to reality.

Re: “Johnny needs a weapon

What is it with liberals and hating guns? I realy don't get it. By and large I think liberals have a pretty good grasp on social issues. Far better than the typical "if they aint no good at stuff then screw 'em" methods of the right. I think their economics theory is a little spotty but to be honest I think that has to do with their idea of justice. However when it comes a a few pounds of carefully crafted steel that projects a small peice of copper jacketed lead with a a mixture of highly combustive substances the lefty goes totaly wingnutty. Why? You'd think they'd want to empower political minorities with the ability to effectively protect themselves from crazed tea party wackos. You'd think they'd want women to be able to protect themselves from abusive men and abortion clinic attackers. You'd think that they would be all for the empowerment that firearms create. They want people to be able to do drugs, have sex and abort pregnancies but hell no to having a gun. What's up with that?

Re: “Lionel makes national TV with homeless comment

Having to work with boomer conservatives all day makes me agree with you about thier many shortcomings. Hearing the "n" word over and over, being told that illegal mexicans should not only be deported but beaten with bats and over and over hearing how the current Wars are wonderful things with one small problem, not enough Arabs are being gassed to death gets real old real quick.

However Jake and Tom, what's the alternative? Has Obama gotten us out of one dumb assed idea that George Bush and company started? We are still in Iraq and Afganistan. Marijuana is still illegal and the war on (some) drugs shows no sign of letting up. Bailouts are still bailing the failures of Wall Street. We are still meddling in the affiars of soverign nations and justice is still for sale.

So what has changed? We MIGHT get some of the health care mess fixed. Woopty doo. Looks like Obama let the Republican MINORITY scare his party into turning that into some serious weak sauce that will probalby just make insurnace companies even richer while screwing us even more.

So what's the point?

Re: “Let me see your papers

Funny how when the police are given vast sweeping powers against brown people conservatives rejoice but give those same police sweeping powers that might affect someone with less suntan and they are up in arms.

For years prior to 9-11 and even afterward conservatives have opposed "real ID" and other federal measures to make fake IDs more difficult to make because they feared it was the first step to being forced to produce identity "papers". But now that Arizona has implimented a law that will do exactly that to anyone with a suntan and a less than perfect comprehention of the english language it's just fine.

Hypocrites.

Hey Pissed, you might want to read Don Quiote and see how windmill tilting worked out for him...

Re: “Suthers' re-election campaign in trouble?

How is it that only Republicans have caused this problem? I seem to recall Democrats being elected to various offices all over Colorado. The Republicans dont have a monopoly on power. Yet you rant on endlessly about only one half of the problem. Somehow Democrats who have been just as crooked as Republicans get a free pass from you. Why is that?
