Re: “Best of 2008: Haute Cuisine Winners Index

I would like to see these "local" papers that tend to take a focus on "local" issues limit these best of awards to business' that remain local. As a community paper the focus of support should be local business. The springs has a wonderful nich for small independent business and they could all use a little help getting the spotlight their way in this society that shops more on brand recognition than quality.

Re: “Golf's little language problem

WTF?!?!? Is this still America? a country built (and being built) my folks who dont speak english well? this is just aweful, if any of the sponsors that haven't pulled out have the tiniest bit of social morality they would now pull out, but I imagine they don't speak english either, just profits and losses. why doesn't the LPGA realize that this is a great oppertunity to break into other markets? someone needs to be back handed for this decision. you can get a drivers license w/o speaking english well but you can't play golf! this just fuels the stereo type of golf belonging to a bunch of pompus asses.

Re: “An unhappy union

It is disgusting that a drver raise is being thrown under the bus, hehehe, these drivers are stretched thin by the same issues the city and everyone else in this country are citing, high gas prices and a weak economy. if the transit system is struggling it is because of piss poor management, instead of pretty new buses it may be a good idea to increase routes, operation times, and route frequency. With the rising fuel costs now is the perfect time for the city to INVEST in the transit system, make the buses a practical solution for work AND play commuting, could you imagine if they had all lines running on the half hour? what about running them later in the evening to early morning on the weekends, might even help cut down on DUI related issues in a perfect world. Of course the city will need to expect to take a loss for a few years, but its business, market and draw new riders agressivly. just a thought.

Re: “Nothing to see here

they should have glued a string between the pasties, then they could have said they wore their swim gear to play in the fountain. if you want to stick it to the man you must out smart the man, and that is not that hard.
