RegionName: Old Colorado City
I for one being a native of Colorado Springs, born and raised am thankful that we can have a paper like the Independent. I will not argue that fact that they are biased on some issues, as no one else can argue the fact that the Gazette is not biased towards Republican views. The Independent allows those of us who are tired of being "polluted" with Republican agenda and views to get a tast of the other side. Those views which go against the Republican party are often buried or seen as "slander" here in the city of Colorado Springs, me as a young Democrat say NO MORE!
Here is the great things about media outlets. We are all free-thinkers; Republican,Libertarian,Democrat, we all think for ourselves. So I challenge all of you to do what I do: Read and partake in all media outlets. Then make a decision based on what YOU think, don't go with blind allegiance to what you THINK a higher being or a party tell you. I often find myself challenging my own views and political stance because of this. Taking two exteremes and deciding for MYSELF! When this happens we truly have the chance to say indeed we are Americans and can think for ourselves. Stop blaming media outlets for their political stance, and appreciate them for reporting the news: biased or not, and the freedome to deduct what you feel is right from them! Come on everyone, be freethinkers, this is my challenge to all of you in the Colorado Springs area!
