Gee, Larimore, why don't ya just go buy a gun and mug people outright. What's that? Some wealthy person should be forced to buy the gun for you?
To Jane madden ("Who's pro-life here"), I submit that both the Reps and Dems have faulty positions on the sanctity of human life. Reps deplore the termination the innocent unborn yet condone (however apologetically) "collateral damage" of the innocent born. On the other hand, Dems will allow the termination (however apologetically)) of the innocent unborn yet deplore "collateral damage". Both sides are ultimately illogical, appealing to the emotional needs of its particular constituency.
BTW - a zygote is still human life albeit at a very early stage of development. We were all there once. Calling it a zygote may remove the guilt of "killing babies" but, essentially, that's what is being done. On the other hand, a woman's body is her's to control. And if she can tolerate the guilt and potential side-effects of abortion, that should be her decision.
Two other points, scientists have been producing stem cells from non-embryonic tissue for at least a few years. So, condoning abortion to get the stem cells is non sequitur. Finally, Mr. Obama may talk about not supporting the Iraq war. However, he has voted for most, if not all, funding of the war. I'd say that classifies as support. Further, he has called for missle strikes against Iran should the Iranians not yield to the demands of the West. So much for peace in our lifetime.
