Re: “John-Alex Mason, RIP

I was one of the students he took on the Blues & Civil Rights trip three years ago. It remains the most influential three weeks of my life. John Alex was an exceptionally gifted and compassionate person, and his loss will be felt by everyone who ever heard his music. I cannot even begin to imagine the pain his wife and daughter are in. My heart goes out to them, and the rest of JAM's family. We love you, JAM and fam.

Re: “Children of the blues

I was one of the studen't on John-Alex's trip and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. John-Alex is a remarkable musician and showed us the real power of Blues music. I will NEVER forget the experiences of that trip and it's people like him who keep the best traditions of our country alive.
