Disgusting. The American addiction to noise cannot even be escaped in our national forests. I hike Pike often, and each year see more signs of destruction from these vehicles, more signs of unlawful campfires, littered trails, party sites. Should we not have some place where we can retreat from the noise and fumes of engines? Perhaps if these people tried walking for a change not only would they become healthier but they would understand what being in nature can really offer.
Where is the investigative journalism here?
What a waste of Congressional Space. Heck, he's a waste of any space.
Councilman Herpin has misinterpreted our vote on 1a. What we citizens "don't want" are open ended, vague, and possibly deceptive referendums on our ballots. Had 1a evidenced any kind of clear plan (beyond paying Lord knows who to do who knows what) it might have had a chance.
I am a post-secondary educator here in town. I am a good professor. My students love me. They learn, they grow, they move on to become successful men and women.
I work fifty to sixty hour weeks year round just to pay the mortgage and raise my family. Because of TABOR the State is seriously considering halving it's support of Higher Education. Colorado already ranks dead last in the nation in this category.
Why do the people of Colorado not want to educate their citizens? Might it be that fully (higher) educated citizens might ask difficult questions about the conservative agenda? The last thing the conservative religious forces in this town want is to promote critical thinking. Should such an epidemic break out the pews and revenues would dwindle fast. Of course many in our fair city are already fully on the government dole (while complaining about government!!) as retired military. Don't raise MY taxes, they say. (But don't LOWER my government retirement checks either). Instead, let's continue to keep the little man down.
TABOR is an intentional effort by the conservative rich to keep the poor poor and the ignorant ignorant. It is a monster that must be stopped.
