Personally, I'd want a minister who has integrity. According to all accounts when he was disgraced a few years ago, Mr. Haggard came to an agreement with New Life Church, in which he agreed, among other things, to stay out of the Springs and not start another church here. He also agreed to get "anti-gay" counseling so that he could be "de-gayed". It would appear that he has not complied with the stipulations of his agreement with New Life and, in fact, has blatantly defied them. Why hasn't any reporter asked him about that? Mr. Haggard obviously has no integrity whatsoever, yet people continue to follow him. Frightening!
Oh, and when we went to The Craftwood after the menu change (which we didn't know about until we got there, since their web site had not been updated), our waiter developed a very bad attitude when I told him I am a vegetarian. We definitely won't be going back.
The Craftwood used to have a great vegetarian dish, which had a variety of vegetarian sides on it. It was a big disappointment when the new guy changed the menu and put an eggplant dish and a mushroom dish on the menu for vegetarians. What a disappointment - eggplant and mushrooms are such a cliche. One would hope that a chef would be more creative. We won't be going back to The Craftwood.
Isn't it interesting that Mr. Bruce is always pontificating about how the government mis-uses money, yet he doesn't think that he should be held accountable?

Sorry, Quixote, didn't know you were actually there at the scene. From your comments I assume you must have been present when this occurred since you stated that Gates made quite a disturbance. And, you obviously must know Gates personally if you call him a jerk because most intelligent people I know don't make judgments like that about people unless they know them personally. There are two sides to every story and reading the police report only gives you one side. Seems to me that you are the one who needs to check his facts.
Wonder how you would feel about this situation if Gates was white and the police officer was black?
Quixote,
Gates wasn't in public - HE WAS IN HIS OWN HOUSE!
I'm not surprised about Plate closing. We ate there just once, but we felt it was over-priced mediocre food with a rude and slow wait staff. We waited for our food for 1 hour after we ordered it. We are all for independently-owned restaurants and support them as much as we can. However, we support good ones and are not going to spend a lot of money for a mediocre meal.
Re: “NaRai Thai Restaurant”
Best Thai restaurant I've run across west of the Mississippi. The Pad Thai is wonderful. Everything is fresh and good. Wait staff is excellent. Great vegetarian offerings.
