Over priced and really over priced. I have ordered their main selections, but in a gluten free crust. It really is a personal sized pizza AND they charge per item. So when you order that personal sized gluten-free crust, you are paying dearly. Be forwarned. You can make it much cheaper at home. The Caprese "salad" should be served as a salad to make it more hearty. Currently it is served traditionally a few slices of tomato, buffalo mozzarella and basil, drizzled with balsamic. Serve it over some lettuce and it will be more worth the price!
I have been going to Marigold's for as long as they have been at this location. I have had the benefit of living within walking distance for over 8 years. I just found out today that they are not serving breakfast anymore. Is that as a direct result of this? I am so disappointed. They had the only breakfast worth a darn here in town. Now we have to eat at The Peak with their terrible potatoes, or Omelette Parlor with their equally terrible potatoes and dirty sticky restaurant. CRAP! What's wrong with our city? We don't have a nurturing attitude in the least. Unfortunately there is a feeling of connection within a very small group of us. Ms. Young's attitude will force locally owned businesses, with character, out of this town. Then what? You'll be forcing the creative class out of this town as well.
Our experience at that school for two years was disappointing. They portrayed this school to be incredible for incredible children. What a scam! The only person benefiting from this school is Mr. Hernandez. What we really experienced was bullying, harassment, apathetic teachers, teachers who are overworked and overwhelmed by problem students, and ineffective school leaders.
In one of the worst examples, ours was one of the children drugged by another student. The principal acted as if our son merely had his foot stomped on in the playground. There were empty promises of counseling - for our child - to help him cope with that situation. We reported incidents of death threats, name calling, intimidation, theft and cruelty to no avail. The drug pusher was expelled. One of the bullies was expelled. But there were still several other extreme problem children, who remain at the school to continue the behavior. Nothing was ever done to help our son overcome the pain from that experience. We were treated as if our child needed to just "get over" the problem. The principal, is an ineffective leader. Mr. Salaam is worthless. The school manual states that bullying and harassment are not tolerated. That is a lie. It also states that teaching respect is the main goal. Another lie.
Several of the teachers at CCA North are stellar. But those are rare jewels. The teachers are rather like old battle axes who expect kids to be cookie-cutter assembly-line drones.
The school doesn't work with the parents to fix the issues. We were given more empty promises to have follow up meetings. But, I think it might be an issue of the leadership having their hands tied.
The daily harassment became unbearable so we pulled our son out of school early. In fact, we are among three families, we are aware of, who pulled children out. Between these three families, we pulled out a total of seven students from CCA North.
What we once thought was going to be a perfect fit for our son, turned out to be a nightmare. Our bright child lost his motivation, test scores suffered, and his self esteem is shattered.
Outdated teaching methods, ineffective leadership, empty promises, filthy schools, and harassment, is what you can expect if you enroll your child to this school. This is a problem-child daycare!
