I am curious how Bremer came to make this presentation. Was he invited by someone? If so, who? Does anyone know?

Kudos to Jan Martin for having the political intestinal fortitude to address the budget crisis head on. We need more leaders like Jan -- at both the county and city.
The tax level in Colorado Springs and El Paso County is the lowest in the state. An increase of $200 on a $250,000 home is reasonable. What will be the consequences of a destitute city? Not only will it affect our lifestyles, it will affect the value of our homes, the ability of our citizens and their children to attain jobs. What desirable business will locate to a city that can't afford adequate police protection, a viable health department or upkeep for its beautiful parks? The consequences will be felt by all.
We pay taxes to benefit all of us - not the politicians. Services benefit citizens and the community. I'm willing to pay for the services I want for a decent lifestyle. If you don't trust the politicians to spend your money wisely, elect someone you trust. I trust Jan Martin to do the right thing and keep Colorado Springs the type of community I can be proud to call home.
