Education and the achievement gap certainly are of great importance for the Hispanic Community, all of the Colorado Springs community, and the state of Colorado. I applaud the Mayor for participating in one-on-one mentoring efforts which are crucial and should be more widespread. However, we can and must work to create systemic change in Colorado's education system.

One way you can do that is to take the Great Futures Pledge at http://www.greateducation.org/pledge because great futures start with a great education.

Great Education Colorado a leading grassroots organization focused on increasing Colorado's long-term investment in education, from preschool through college. We empower all citizens to be vocal and effective advocates for our schools and our children.
