Re: “Beryl Beloved

Utterly cool. Beryl Beloved reminds a lot of us of the Virgin Prunes, in a good way. Old-school gothic rock with a stage show that's strong on the theatrical side.

Re: “Targeted challenger

Politically speaking, the use of emotion, appeal to fear, and thought-terminating clich├ęs can certainly be persuasive. But that doesn't mean that they're actually demonstrative of valid arguments.

You'll notice, when the "argument" portraying Dwight Dorty as a supposedly dangerous speaker can't be shown conclusively to hold weight, there's a red herring thrown in by another Anonymous regarding the alleged "pit" at the Magistrelli home in the 1990's. Are the two of you really expecting to portray yourselves as people who engage in rational, respectable discourse? You don't wear zentai masks and speak through voice changers at City Hall too, do you?

Re: “Targeted challenger

"If you shared [sic] my name, I certainly would not come up as a pedophile, that's for damn sure."

You're right. No results anywhere for 719hipsterr. Boy, my weekend is ruined.

Simple enough... Dorty served his time, and he claims to have been changed, in part, because of Magistrelli's work. So, what do you want for the guy? Everlasting quarantine? Can I sign you up too?

Re: “Targeted challenger

And, of course, it wasn't a sexual pervert who just escaped from prison that spoke on behalf of Karen. It was a rehabilitated, former criminal. What do you want from this city... The Scarlet Letter?

Re: “Targeted challenger

Well, we have a nameless "hipster" and another "concerned citizen" who think that this is just deplorable. God forbid we have something as serious as a walking, talking, registered sex offender using a microphone somewhere in our city - and at a school, no less!! But isn't it interesting how those who want us to believe/trust them so much on this issue are typically anonymous?

I'm pretty disgusted to read all these ignorant statements about Mr. Dorty, the person who spoke on behalf of Magistrelli, and who happens to be a former sex offender. I think it was courageous and noble, as opposed to what the detractors continue to insist about it. What are some of YOUR own personal shortcomings? Can we bring those up and vilify you as an individual, and let the past define you, rather than letting your present situation define who you are? If you actually shared your name, I wonder what lists we might find you on.

On the contrary... Dwight Dorty is an honest, upstanding person, and also happens to be a regular member of a men's bible study that I attend at Calvary Worship Center in the Springs. He's a member of the Rocky Mountain Black Tea Party. He had just as much right to speak at the county assembly as anyone else. For goodness' sake... how "ethical" is the average politician, who I'd assume you must be implying should have spoken on Magistrelli's behalf instead? Are you kidding me?!

Honestly, saying "there were children there" is as stupid as suggesting that we shouldn't allow a formerly convicted thief to speak anywhere unless we warn everyone in advance to hide their wallets and purses. Should Dwight be barred from City Council meetings, too? Fascist much?
