Re: “Sallie Clark to address national groups in Cleveland

REALLY GOP- YOU’RE LGBT FRIENDLY??? A GOP Governor’s Unbelievable Defense Of Her Party’s Anti-LGBT Platform

On CNN Monday morning, Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R), co-chair of the Republicans’ platform committee, explained that their priority with those planks was to “make American great” and to “stand for the human rights of all people, not just one segment, one class, one race, one preference, but for all people in the United States.” Besides, she said, there were gay people on the committee, insisting, “We’re an inclusive party; we’re a big tent.”
(Technically, there was gay person on the committee. Out of the 112 members, Rachel Hoff was the first openly gay Republican to ever serve on the platform committee.)…

Scumbag of the Day: Megachurch Pastor Admits He’d Choose Trump Over Jesus

As an atheist, I have a very low opinion of religion to begin with. As a LIBERAL atheist, I consider right wing Christianity to be the single greatest threat to life on this planet. Not for nothing, if Jesus is supposed to be your role model, at least PRETEND you don’t despise the poor, the sick, and everyone that’s not a white heterosexual male.

But until this moment, right wing “Christian” leaders had to still maintain the fiction that Jesus was their Lord and blablabla. That seems to have ended as Robert Jeffress, the con-man pastor of a megachurch in Dallas has openly thrown Jesusunder the wheels of Trump’s jet-plane: “You know, I was debating an evangelical professor on NPR, and this professor said, ‘Pastor, don’t you want a candidate who embodies the teaching of Jesus and would govern this country according to the principles found in the Sermon on the Mount?’” Jeffress said. “I said, ‘Heck no.’ I would run from that candidate as far as possible, because the Sermon on the Mount was not given as a governing principle for this nation.”

Well, thank God (if you’ll forgive the expression)! It truly is a refreshing sight to see an influential leader of the religious right finally admit what so many of us have been saying for so many years: Conservative Christianity has little to nothing to do with Jesus and everything to do with weaponizing religion. It’s not about “salvation” or “living free of sin”; it’s about control and power. That’s it. Put women in their place. Keep the rich on top. Punish the poor. Strip minorities of their civil rights.

In other words: Do the exact opposite of what Jesus actually says in the Bible.…

Re: “I-25: It's only getting worse

They should have made a "Thruway Highway" road out east 20 years ago, like they have back in NY and in Eastern states. That way trucks and cars that don't need to go thru the cities can bypass them to get thru the state quicker and safer for the population. We didn't get trucks dumping hazardous materials on the highways in the cities and less car congestion on the city highways.

Re: “Darryl Glenn, his own words

Yes, Glenn, there has been an "expansion of marriage" because terms and conditions have evolved since the start of civilization more than 8 thousand years ago. Thankfully, woman are no longer considered property, just like multiple marriages were outlawed and divorce was legalized. Also, adultery was legalized or taken off the books as a crime, and you're complaining about marriage changing to include LOVING AND COMMITTED SAME SEX PARTNERS??? Get real, dude.

Re: “Glenn, Lamborn dominate GOP primary results

Ya know, with the Tea Party endorsing the GOP runner TRUMP, I don't know how anyone can say they have creditability anymore. Dobson claims "he is a newly born again" and will need their panel of conservative Christians to guide him, but TRUMP is going to be like a WILD BOAR in the White House- untamed, uncivilized and self-serving when it comes to what is best for our country. Can't wait for this election go down in November- LMAO!!!
