Re: “Mirch Masala

Simply the best Indian food I've ever eaten. The tiki masala chicken is so incredible I've actually had dreams about it. The kheer pudding and the mango dessert are some of th bed flavors I've enjoyed. The format of the buffet is very pragmatic. Go at lunch, that's the best deal. Marvelous experience

Re: “Playing representative roulette in Colorado Springs

living in district 6 is like living in a Walking Dead episode- there's just nowhere to turn.

Re: “Sierra students walk out

Mike miles is a product of authoritarianism. His background as a virtual dictator ("the little general" was his nickname )is entirely wrong in a system trying to promote critical thinking and democracy. Fuhrer miles, this is a school...not a tank battalion. The students walking out of class is VERY telling in a district mired in dysfunction, cronyism, and over paid administrators.

Re: “Music is the weapon

"I don't see enough people moving outside of those organizations to create their own thing."
True enough brother... I've been playing here for a couple of decades and it is VERY hard to find jazz gigs that actually-P-A-Y more than 50-75 bucks a night here in C/S. I catch much more work in Denver and even Pueblo. That means working 100 nights a year and NOT pulling in 8K- hardly a wage to live on for a single person, let alone a family. I've found it exceedingly difficult to create your own thing when few C/S venues will take a chance on jazz. Perhaps worst of all, we now have some guys playing for FREE...FREE!...on Wednesdays around town. Hard to say its a "profession" if everybody thinks they can be a player and clubs keep hiring the wannabees...

Re: “The campaign for Amendments 60 and 61 and Prop 101 sounds bad, but it may just work

Thses Amendments would decimate education- as a teacher, i'd probably be forced to leave teaching and move to another state. Ironically, that is exactly what the authors of this amendment probably want anyways- to destroy public education. Sad.

Re: “Advice from on high

Having a world class wannabe "psuedo-mobster" like Mr. Bartolin (Bartolini is the official name- and he tells you this in private meetings meant to puff up his most unimpressive 5' 7" stature) lecture anyone on anything is simply laughable. Mr. "I think I'm the Tony Soprano of hotels" should be more worried about whether or not the bread at his restaurants comes out edible (it doesn't these days) and less about the work of the big boys who are in charge of actually running important community entities. Community services that do more than simply wipe the drooling mouths of the spoiled rich in he BMoor community with gold plated napkins. There is a saying in German business, and it fits amicably here after reading the ranting robber-barren retardation in Mr Bartolini's letter to the council; THE FISH STINKS FROM THE HEAD. The next time you want to criticize the price we pay for any public service Mr. Bartols and James, try examining your own FAT, bloated, pregnant, absolutely unjustifiable, 6 figure paycheck. I hardly think your worth the 300K you make each year Mr. Ebenezer.

Re: “Dopey strikes again

Dave Shultheis -pronounced "shoes-tied" -is a major league douche. He belongs in the Republicant party that brought us 8 excruciating years of W, 2 failed wars, and the worst economic crisis since the great depression. Looking back a year later, we can now enjoy the rodeo clown antics of teabaggers like ol' rep Dave from the comfort of our homes that aren't in foreclosure any longer. I say we should forward everything any right wing nut in El Paso County says to Countdown every night, so the rest of America can see what right-wing theocratic fascism looks like and can correspondingly adjust their personal levels of disbelief to code orange...or is it code red? I can't remember the fake threat level charts anymore from the facade of the historic travesty that was Bush administration...

Re: “D-11 on the upswing

So John, with all these incredible accomplishments...where is the corresponding PAY RAISES for the teachers in the trenches? Or are you suggesting the 7 body board educated 28000 students all by your important-selves?
