Re: “Mirch Masala

Simply the best Indian food I've ever eaten. The tiki masala chicken is so incredible I've actually had dreams about it. The kheer pudding and the mango dessert are some of th bed flavors I've enjoyed. The format of the buffet is very pragmatic. Go at lunch, that's the best deal. Marvelous experience

Re: “Dotsero

Dotesero is okay... But really, after three songs you've heard everything they are about.

Re: “Hickenlooper and Beauprez face off in Colorado Springs

And meanwhile the traitor and coward Doug Lamborn won't even debate his opponent, an ACTUAL military veteran- Irv Halter. Yet LAMEborn votes to send our sons and daughters into combat again and again? What a historic bafoon.

Re: “Lamborn and Co. urge generals who oppose Obama to resign

The part of me that is a complete partisan wants to see the next LAMEborn train wreck... And the next... And the next. But the part of me that cares about our city wants a leader who isn't a complete tool.

Re: “Playing representative roulette in Colorado Springs

living in district 6 is like living in a Walking Dead episode- there's just nowhere to turn.

Re: “Sierra students walk out

Mike miles is a product of authoritarianism. His background as a virtual dictator ("the little general" was his nickname )is entirely wrong in a system trying to promote critical thinking and democracy. Fuhrer miles, this is a school...not a tank battalion. The students walking out of class is VERY telling in a district mired in dysfunction, cronyism, and over paid administrators.

Re: “Music is the weapon

"I don't see enough people moving outside of those organizations to create their own thing."
True enough brother... I've been playing here for a couple of decades and it is VERY hard to find jazz gigs that actually-P-A-Y more than 50-75 bucks a night here in C/S. I catch much more work in Denver and even Pueblo. That means working 100 nights a year and NOT pulling in 8K- hardly a wage to live on for a single person, let alone a family. I've found it exceedingly difficult to create your own thing when few C/S venues will take a chance on jazz. Perhaps worst of all, we now have some guys playing for FREE...FREE!...on Wednesdays around town. Hard to say its a "profession" if everybody thinks they can be a player and clubs keep hiring the wannabees...
