music, Poet, poetry
A great place, fantastic view, great entertainment, and fantastic people doing wonderful performance poetry.
The church is a building that has become a symbol for the Air Force Academy kind of like the empire state building is a symbol for New York City. I personally would hate to see anything happen to it not because it's a church but because I always thought of it as being interesting. As far as the Garden of the Gods is concerned, I would hate to see anything happen to it as well. To be honest these discussions regarding what is meaningful from a religious stand point are pointless and only add to the void that exists between us. I would like to think that we all could find something more productive to do with our time then to argue about such trivial issues.
America has been conned by the PT Barnum of our time. Promising both sides they will get what they want is the mantra of a true huxter and many in this country fell for it hook line and sinker. Now as he pushes an agenda that endangers everything this country stands for as he sweetens the flow of cash back to the 1% he is a member of. How can anyone even think this man is honest on any level when he has spent his whole life cheating and disenfranchising thousands of people to amass his ill gotten fortune. Now to keep prying eyes from reporting the depth of his corruption he holds the press and media at arms length while pumping lies out at a rate that is staggering to anyone who still has a sense of what is ethical and good. Yeah I got the message that you don't like Hillary but to put this mentally ill bag of wind in charge of the nuclear codes is nothing short of suicide.
To be on Lamborn's list of approved voters one must be GOP, have contributed to his campaign of terror and must not be angry about any of the mindless legislation he either fostered or rubberstamped. He knows in his heart of hearts that the GOP majority of the CS area will undoubtedly continue to vote against their own self interest to keep his corrupt keaster in office until the cows come home. SAD
The Gazette was wrong to post this without thoroughly investigating the matter to determine what exactly is going on. As a result they have not only tarnished the image of Cottonwood but also hurt the resident artists who sell their art there. It is difficult enough to be successful in this economy without newspapers like the Gazette causing this kind of unnecessary grief but we at Cottonwood want the world to know that we all support Jon Khoury and Cottonwood Center for the Arts 110%!
I often find it interesting that it is often atheists not other Christians who must remind many of our Christian brothers and sisters that they may need to spend a little more time being like the one they claim follow. Why is the God of peace and love always seem to be represented by hate and prejudice?
Hey Rev, you are not acting very "Christ Like". Believe what ever you wish but if you are indeed a Christian like you claim your not doing a very good job of following Jesus's teachings. Look up the concept of "unconditional love" and then come back to the table and show us why being a "Christian" is a good thing by your example. If Jesus/God is the creator of heaven and earth and is all powerful as you claim why would you need to defend him? If he doesn't like something someone says he will smite them and your problem is solved. If he doesn't then maybe you need to rethink your spiritual path. In any case, over the many years I have been around Christians I have learned many things. One of those things is that you seem to enjoy taking Bible verse out of context to make points. Often the point has little or nothing to do with the subject in question. I have also learned that many Christians feel that for some reason they are better people than non-Christians just because they are Christian. Well that maybe or may not be your opinion but frankly when people come to me with that kind of attitude I don't really care to associate with them. I don't care if they are God's representative or the man in the moon. So follow your heart my friend.
An Idiots Debate

There are times I really wonder
Just how great we really are
Might think we’d have it figured out
But I see few signs so far
Where is that moral compass
That points to greater good
So things can be for all of us
Like we always dreamed it would
Some how we’ve lost our focus
And now sound bites give us pause
And we forget what it was all about
As we defend our favorite cause
But some want us all divided
And you know what really sucks
They make us think we have a say
But we don’t have the bucks
Even the news belongs to them
So of course they add a spin
Up is down and down is up
No matter what shape you’re in
So the question is what can we do
To make our path more clear
Cut through the crap that’s always up
And puts us all in fear
Perhaps amend the Bill of Rights
To better fit today
But what to add…may I suggest
In my own poetic way
First thing I’d add upon this list
Is food for Americans to eat
Then shelter for our homeless folks
So no one sleeps out on the street
Then I’d like to think if I’d get sick
That healthcare would be my right
And a dentist for my aging teeth
And glasses for my sight
Hey look I’m not being lazy
And I’ll still earn my daily wage
So don’t you say its “socialism” fool!
As you fly off into a rage
When you cut through all the bullshit
Our goal should be crystal clear
We must be prepared for what life brings
For as long as we are here
And if you don’t want to pay your share
Just know this to be true
All it takes is a twist of fate
And the needy one is you.
