So with Scott McInnis coming to Colorado Springs this week - think he'll announce Sallie Clark as his running mate?
I am so sick of people who feel they've been lied to or they didn't get the whole story or they want to know where their money goes. It's all public record folks. How many of you have ever been to a city council meeting. How many of you have ever spoken with a council member, asked a direct question. People spend more time on Facebook than they do trying to learn something about how their city is actually run. If you're that upset and that convinced there is malfeasance then do something about it. Don't be so lazy. If you're not involved you have no right to bitch. You can fault council for a lot of things, such as a pathetic lack of leadership and vision but why punish your entire community for the sins of just 9 people?
Along with the power granted TABOR comes the responsibility of doing something inherently difficult...voting for a tax increase. Obviously the city council didn't believe local voters could be trusted to do something that difficult. I believe they were correct in their assumption. Sadly, most of your neighbors (not you, of course) are basically selfish and could care less if the city eventually crumbles. Here's hoping the next decade brings either an influx of more compassionate citizens - or people wake up and start acting like responsible adults instead of selfish children.
