Uninformed voters shouldn't blame the ones who wrote the ballot question. I knew the commissioners were currently elected to two terms. When your read the ballot question, you should have researched it first before voting. That's why they provide those blue books well before election day.

The fact that the Douglas County DA didn't want to plead down Day's case leads me to believe that he WILL do prison time. I don't think the "temporary insanity" plea is going to fly among intelligent (or at least halfway intelligent) jurors. And frankly, I hope he DOES do prison time. Otherwise, we'll have anarchy. (slight exaggeration there)

I don't know Shirk personally but I'd vote for him as the lesser of two evils if I could. I don't even live in El Paso County, so I can't vote for either candidate. But I DO know Terry Maketa personally. Trust me, he is NO leader. Well I'll rephrase that. He may be a leader, but he's not a respected nor respectable leader. Yes, he's done great things for the community, but he cannot manage people as effectively as he can manage resources.

MulesFan, you miss the entire point. Yes, she posed nude; yes, she posted it on her page next to a pic of a sheriff's vehicle. But the prank she pulled on a fellow dispatcher??? Totally unprofessional. And she gets promoted AFTER that? Just another poor decision in line with a slew of others under Maketa's watch.
