I think the city is doing a great job providing this information - I'll thumb my nose at the journalist for taking this so lightly. Once I was going to take a raft trip in the Royal Gorge and although it was not storming where we were, the river guides wouldn't let us go because of the danger from up stream. We ... See Morecame back a couple hours later to an unbelievable maelstrom in the river even tho' it never rained where we were. The guides were heads up and spot on with their prediction. We came back the next day and had a great time. I shudder to think what the results would have been with someone just out to 'hotdog' or make money from the tourists.
