In addition to the intelligent comments above (unlike the original article), the article's author (whom I hesitate to label a "journalist" for fear of insulting that profession) might wish to consider that tourists visit Colorado Springs--and presumably Colorado Springs would like to welcome their business. Not everyone lives in areas with thunderstorms, flash floods, and other forms of severe weather. Excellent awareness and education programmes such as this one not only help locals, but also ensure that visitors remain safe--perhaps even to visit the area again, supporting local businesses. Kudos to Colorado Springs for doing the right thing through their information! Congratulations to the residents of Colorado Springs for permitting their city to spend their tax dollars saving lives.
