Martha Scanlan tickets are $20? Tell me who the top secret super awesome band that you haven't announced yet is!? Bright Eye's? Sufjan Stevens? WHO WHO WHO!?
Josh won't say anything bad about anybody, but anybody that knows Josh can tell that he's not a fan of Uriah. Though he will not speak poorly of people and always is respectful, he does not have any interest in what is happening anymore or he'd be more involved. He taught us to make time for what is important, so I'm assuming that since there has been such a drastic change in how it's been run and that the shows are bombing shows that he is not investing much time. With Josh leading, theLoft was putting over a thousand kids a month in there, 300 at a time sometimes. I showed up to watch Desert Noises, an incredible touring band that put over 100 kids in last time, and the place was emmmmmmpty. I didn't even go in because I could stomach supporting what this has become. Maybe it doesn't matter, I don't think anyone even knows the place is still open.
Uriah told him that he was going to keep this for the kids, that he was going to continue to serve the community, that he wanted to keep the same people involved, that he wanted to serve Colorado Springs music, and that he wanted to serve in general, yet all it appears he's done so far is serve himself and turn what was a bustling hub of community into a middle age club house. It appears he doesn't care about the community, the kids or anyone that was involved, and he surely doesn't care about Josh or anything he did or invested. I'm not saying that's how it is, only that that is how it appears. Josh invested his whole life for us, he gave up his time, his money, he basically gave up his life because he believed this could change people's lives and make lives better. He believed in us, he believed in family and community and that one person could make a difference, and in turn inspired others to make a difference.
Sure maybe Josh is vocally friends with Uriah, but all that shows is Josh's integrity and desire to see people succeed, it does not at all show that Josh is "friends" with Uriah. If Josh was friends with Uriah, theLoft would still have a future. IMHO, he should change the name if he considers himself a friend of Josh, and start over with a new myspace. I might believe Uriah has a shred of dignity and moral fiber if he did that.
"The Loft" is a joke. The owners integrity is seriously in question. We want Josh back. If Josh is still friends with Uriah I'll be surprised, and he'll be my hero. I could never be friends with the current owners after what they've done.
