Vote them out..We are going the worng direction. Bach is a prohibitionist, which is as backward as you can get. When one will not open their eyes, or lend their ears to the truth, how can you count on them to lead us in liberty, and help to create properity, and jobs?
The governments in our cities need to relax, and allow for the recreational or medical marijuana shops. The same old prohibitionist mentality, which is driven by the fears instilled in us for years by the lies of our government, is keeping people from knowing and seeing the truth about marijuana.
Business will always be self limiting, based on consumer demand, and economics.
To Catherine, I say this, I love Manitou Springs. Manitou Speings should not worry about allowing marijuana retailers. The size, and space available in Manitou Springs will limit how many businesses, regardless of what they sell. I would also say, based on the polls being taken across our nation, that the majority will have no problem seeing a marijuana retailer.
If the mayor and city council think we will give them a pass if they vote to ban recreational marijuana shops in Colorado Springs, they are mistaken.
It is this kind of prohibitionist thinking that we are all working so hard to combat right now.
Marijuana is not a public safety issue...Prohibition is!
Time to learn a second language amigos!
too funny! go colbert, maybe you should run in '16
@Donald Davis, and those who think the same...if you take away guns from citizens with stupid laws, and gun bans, you only serve to assist those who perpetuate these crimes.
You take away rights from law abiding citizens, in the name of security, while stopping nothing. If the government were to take away the guns, then they will use other methods, perhaps more devastating, think Iraq, Afghanistan, or Oklahoma.
Our government needs to stop this self serving, warm fuzzy crap, and do something to protect. Post police officers, or military...I am sure they can figure out a way in the name of national security.
More laws only take away rights of law abiding citizens who should be allowed to possess
guns by constitutional right. If the government seeks to take away our rights, then we need to seek a change to this government. The United States is great because of it's citizens, and our freedom.
Re: “Homeless population growing, survey shows”
It's always a pleasure to see those who have make decisions about the lives of those who do not. Our city needs to take more time to discuss with those who are less fortunate about how to help them. It could be they do not want help, or they want help in a different manner.
Instead we try to pass laws to force them into shelters, that many do not want to be in for various reasons, and that is within their right. Or these same laws are used to force them out of sight, or place them into the industrial incarceration system.
Ask those who are homeless how they are treated, and you will see how they are treated.
