And Lenora I totally agree about the stupidity of how this whole process is being done. It is as if you are actually voting for one of these replacements that I have never heard of, that I have no information on - instead of actually voting to not recall Rep. Morse. It seems to me the choice should be yes or no on the recall, and then if people do want Rep. Morse recalled there should be an actual election for his replacement - as it is now, it is totally confusing. And if I don't want the recall to take place and I vote no for the recall, but then I figure it might go through, so I want to have a choice in who takes his place and vote for a replacement does that nullify my no vote for the recall?
very confusing and all for a b.s. reason.
I don't want to hear anymore from republicans about being fiscally conservative.
Ryan Parsell - I am unclear about why I even need this - why can't I vote through the mail like I normally do and bypass any line at all? And I will be interested in seeing how it really speeds things up - how much longer does it take for me to take my drivers license out and show it for ID as opposed to taking this card out - I mean, according to this form I still have to show my ID - so I am unclear how this is supposed to make it more convenient.
but anyways, Ryan, thanks for your information.
Ms. Reinking - that is a very odd thing to get in the mail. and goodness knows you will probably get a variety of answers on it's legitimacy from all over the place. It is a shame there is usually no way to really find out what is truth in todays day and age.
and since you asked a question about an affiliated subject, but different, I will do the same. I received some sort of verification/voter form in the mail - I must go down to a voting station, on one of our voting days, show appropriate ID and vote, and have this form to have it physically signed by an observer after I vote in front of him/her, I guess.
I am going to go down there, but I am also very irritated by this. I am a registered voter, I vote at each and every election I am responsible for. I also pay income and property tax. I have a valid drivers license. There is no reason at all for me to singled out as - what a fake person? somehow committing some form of voter fraud. I would like an explanation. And I will ask, but I'll probably just get an agreed upon story or a promise to contact me in the future with an answer. Never to hear of them again - until 3 years down the line when they choose to do it again. And my son had the same thing done to him last year. Very odd.
Thank goodness Mr. Bach is a fiscal conservative.
What the heck - how in the world can he call himself that. And if the republicans re-elect him or anyone like him they are just as pathetic locally as they are nationally.
Siggie - it is not President Obama who continues to ignore all of the jobs bills he's proposed - it's the house of representatives.
they have refused to even vote on the American Jobs Act, they have refused to work with the President on getting Vets back to work, they have refused to work on an infrastructure bill etc.
these are things our counry needs, not just to employ people now - but to also improve our country.
The deficit problem will, for the most part take care of itself if we start employing people.
To me, it seems silly to worry about the deficit and it's impact on our future generations if we are not taking care of the present generation growing up. How much are these kids going to care about whether or not there is a deficit in 20 years if they spend their childhood in dire straights and our country has fallen apart because we, our generation, couldn't bother to keep up with repairs and improvements?
and yeah, green energy may not be perfect - but then, neither are our choices now - coal and oil are not going to last forever - we need to start finding a replacement now.
and look into history and all of the oil drilling companies that went out of business in late 1800's and early 1900's. things do not always work at first, but we have to keep trying, how else will we get where we need to be?
Utilities here, in Colorado Springs are less expensive then anywhere else I have lived. I do not want that to change.
I do not like the way Mayor Bach is trying to sell off the cities properties. The cities properties are part of what make it a viable city. Why sell everything off? it really doesn't make sense to me.
and the downtown area does not need a sports arena. and the fact Mayor Bach is a land developer just makes the entire proposal too suspicious to me.
and aren't there issues with the sale of Memorial hospital, and their retirement program? - how do we know Mayor Bach won't screw with the money made off any possible sale of Drake?
Ms. Clark - haven't we had enough of the war on drugs?
we have spent billions sending people to jail for possession of marijuana. We have thousands, if not millions of peoples lives ruined due to our drug war. But then maybe that's the whole purpose, instead of our legislators, city councilors etc seeing the positives of legalizing marijuana they continue to see the financial benefits of locking up the people who prefer marijuana to alcohol.
I am so tired of all of this crap - can't we move along, obviously we are going to have cannibis legalized within the next 20 years - why don't we be the first? stop banning what the people voted for.
