We have gone to Dat's Italian twice now. The first time we went there was a wedding reception on the patio and the place was pretty busy. We had decent service and had no problems. My husband had the lasagna and loved it. So, tonight we decided to go back. The experience was very different from the first. My husband arrived a minute before I did and stood waiting for someone to help him. No one even looked his way until I arrived even tho there were 4 people behind the counter talking. Then we were seated. The waitress did ask for our drink orders and we told her we needed a minute to decide what we wanted to eat. We finally had to tell someone we wanted to order after our waitress walked by 4 times without asking. Our food came promptly, but we had to ask for more water. We ordered the spaghetti pie and a meatball sangwich. They were good but the sides left something to be desired. They were not very busy and the crew was standing around doing nothing until the owner came up front. Then they looked busy. A woman came in that was obviously a regular customer and she had everyone's attention. It's not that we need to be hovered over, but we do like someone to pay attention to some detail when we are dining in. If we wanted to serve ourselves we would have stayed home.
