Springs Waste charges us $4.00 a month for a recycle blue bin.
I was thrown out school on a regular basis because the principal of my public school decided arbitrarily that it was too long. Unfortunately, my parents agreed with the principal and I was forced to cut my hair. That was wayyyy back in 1968. I hoped that things had changed.
I emailed her yesterday and received this reply:
I am El Paso County's Oil and Gas Designee. In 2012, the El Paso County Commissioners approved Oil and Gas Regulations. Those regulations do not require public hearings for County permits. While there is no public hearing requirement, the County is always willing to consider any public input or citizen concern in evaluating the permits. The county has done this in the past on other wells.
At the present time, I am unaware of any company that has future plans to seek a county permit.
I post any new information on the county's Oil and Gas website.
I understand your concern and position.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you, Diana

From CSaction org: "El Paso County granted a permit for the test well, as did the state. Should NexGen find sufficient quantities of commercial-grade oil and wish to drill more, or frack, it would have to get more permits.
However, the county would not require a hearing.
And Diana May, the county's oil and gas local government designee, says thus far: "I have not had one citizen or public objection — not one."
(we can change that)
Diana May can be reached by phone: 719-520-6409 or email @ DianaMay@elpasoco.com."
I don't really care about bourbon. But I am happy to have another locally owned and operated restaurant as an alternative to all the mediocre chain restaurants we are stuck with in the Springs. So, I would have liked to hear a lot more about the food. One question. Will they provide any type of drive home service for over imbibers?
Ring ring. It's the clue phone and it's for you.
