Gee, "we have been in the military and pay property taxes so we shouldn't have to pay sales tax." What these folks forget is the rest of us who own houses pay property tax and sales tax. "But we served in the military and you didn't" (and one might ask what was the reason for enlisting) - and no I didn't. My dad who was active in both the American Legion and the VFW laughed at that protestation. He knew many people of that belief who, he said, spent their entire military service as clerks on some American base.
