and no bounty hunters to fear. The only real result is more criminals on the street being financed by tax payers with no way of ensuring money is returned.
Actually, if anyone has not done due diligence, its you Chet Hardin. Philadelphia runs the exact system that Waller and Morse have proposed. Currently because there is only 10 percent down to get out of jail, and nothing to ensure payment is made, the city alone is owed 1 BILLION dollars by felons. There are presently 47000 felons at large in Philadelphia knowing full well no one has the incentive to pick them up. THey don't owe private bail bondsman anything, and pretty much, have no reason to show up in court.
Worst thing about on blogs like this is that they fail to research the story. This story is an example of reporting and taking politicians at their word.
