Some believe that the current tension within the El Paso County Republican Party is damaging. I would take the view that it is helping the party reassess its direction and what it stands for. No changes to any Party or organization take place without "pain:" it is an essential element to change. The Republican Party has become careless in upholding and advocating for its Principles; its leaders have taken the easy way out by trying to satisfy everyone in an effort to construct a "large tent," and by doing so have alienated its base. It is time to bring the Party back to its roots. Those leaders that cannot uphold ALL of its Principles are still quite welcome within the Party, but should resign from leadership.
