Thanks for the voice of reason, baildog. Two of my kids have gone through Mann and one is presently there. Mr. Stanec has been completely open about this trip since he was approved to go. There's no question that this leave is unpaid. My kids know the Stanec kids and the family has made a lot of sacrifices so that they could take advantage of this opportunity. There's no "breezing" out of town about it. And further, both Indy's blogger and the unidentified parent who commented have rather optimistic views on the timeline for justice in America. Mr. Stanec will be back in 90 days; it will likely be years before the courts are finished with the Joshua Carrier matter. And lest we forget, the "center of the controversy" isn't School District 11, or CSPD or the principal of Mann Middle School. It's Joshua Carrier who, if he is guilty of the crimes with which he's charged, victimized all of the aforementioned as well as those who he's charged with assaulting. Anyone who blames Scott Stanec for any of this doesn't know Scott Stanec. I hope the "Swiss Semester" is everything his family hopes it will be. After reading about it online, I'm looking into it for my own kids.
