I'm starting to think we elected the wrong guy mayor. Williams sounds like a better leader as well as a better administrator.
I mourn the loss of any newspaper, even the Gazette. News is a lot more than just "content" and there's far too little of it these days, including online sources. I don't believe that competition with online sources is killing the Gazette. I think they're killing themselves with mediocrity.
Oldcrank, you are demonstrably wrong. As of today, national polls show Obama beating all specific Republican candidates (except Romney in just a couple of polls), and pretty well tied with a "generic" Republican. This indicates that the race could realistically go either way, at least with the current set of candidates. And keep in mind that this is probably the worst time for Obama in the polls. If the economy and unemployment rates show improvement over the next year, his numbers will certainly rise. I see no basis for Republican over-confidence at this point.
Yet another case of upside-down priorities by the CSPD. While stating that they lack the resources to investigate burglaries, car-thefts, and vandalism, they somehow find the wherewithal to stage stings in bars and arrest MMJ patients.

Re: “Bennett flip-flops on YMCA recusal”
I can find no evidence for your assertion that the YMCA is a Catholic-run organization. Can you point me to a reference?
