What a shame that it closed after 111 years in the same location. I practically begged the Gazette to dignify this historic closing but neither the publisher, Dave Phillips, Linda Navarro or Bill Vogrin chose to reply.
Scott was one of my favorite students at Widefield HS. I'll always remember the Gettysburg project he completed in American History after his family visited there. Scott was a ball of energy, hopelessly in love with his family and life. In fairness to the Indy, on September 1st there was no way to know about this tragedy. They were reporting the news about unfinished business, not attacking Scott. We share tears with Don, Sue, Sandy and the kids....a big, big piece of the Stanec picture has been taken from them.
