Somebody better wake up and figure out what's happening with the groundwater and seismic issues throughout our nation as they relate to our headlong pursuit of natural gas energy. What's so wrong with investing in solar, wind and ethanol instead? Why are we taking these risks?
Consider a couple of the following examples in Colorado:
Large deep well drilled in 1961 at the Rocky Mtn Arsenal, trash fluids pumped down the well, earthquakes throughout Denver Metro area began which stopped when they stopped pumping garbage down the well and sealed it. http://www.rma.army.mil/cleanup/facts/deep…
Fracking in Southern Front Range Colorado results in methane-caused flaming/exploding water wells, http://crackercoast.com/crackerchat/showth…. Then, just last year - guess what - earthquakes near the Walsenburg/Trinidad/Spanish Peaks areas. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eqi…
Run a search engine yourself and check it out. Seems to me if we ate a little less corn syrup, ran a bit more on ethanol, solar & wind, Colorado would be a better, healthier place. We're pumping poison into our groundwater, re-arranging the bedrock, sucking out the natural gas, and wondering why there's problems. Let's wake up and smell the coffee.
