Wow! that is the only word for this. The deep rooted hate and discontent shown by certain individuals in Southeast Colorado amazes me. Yes I understand people will fight for their homes, and I agree with that. But to turn everything "Military" into a negative is disgusting and appalling. What about the billions of dollars that will flood our economy with the increase in soldiers? What about the spouses of these soldiers that will bring valuable skill sets and maybe some quality employees? What about the property taxes brought about by families purchasing homes, money for K-12 education? What about the jobs created for civilians in supporting industries? What about muliti-million dollar construction projects to provide the infrastructure? Can we afford to turn all of this down because we might have some more helicopters in the air?
And honestly, the complaint about drones? Really? So what you all are saying is that instead of allowing our military to practice with and technologically advance this option, you would rather see our sons and daughters get shot down in combat. Because if we aren't using unmanned drones, then your kids will have to fly the planes. That sounds like a great idea! Forget the proven fact that well trained soldiers have a higher survival rate than the untrained soldiers of the Civil War, Korea, Vietnam, etc. Forget the fact that these brave men and women are the ones protecting your right o own land and speak your near sighted opinions.
The only bright side I can see to this subject is that now you have your heads so far up your kiesters that at least you can see the sky instead of your dried up, infertile little bits of near wasteland under your feet. How many of you are making a decent living off that land after the years of drought, wind and poor land management? How many of you couldn't sell your land over the last twenty years, heck some of you couldn't pay someone to take it off of your hands! How many of you are suffering financially, even with your "City Jobs" because your still paying off your father's mortgage on the place?
Think about the future! Yes we all have history here. We all have memories and family roots that go deep and that is great! With collaboration and compromise we can be a great country once again. We were founded by people that understood that compromises had to be made to become an independent country, the UNITED States of America. They didn't name it the DIVIDED States of America! Life is about compromise, otherwise we would all be Hitler, or Castro. Boy getting your way all the time sure worked out great for them!
