Does anyone know when the Gazette article is going to be in the paper?
You are a fool if you think this is over. Stay tuned.

Who's watching the people who watch foster children?
Monitoring fails in flawed system, critics say
D'Arcy Fallon; Gazette Telegraph
When Crystola group home operators Bob and Karen Magistrelli appear before an administrative
law judge Jan. 17 to explain why they placed troubled children in an outside "pit" as punishment,
they stand to lose their license.
These are the issues and the facts of this story.
1) The Magistrellis foster home was raided by the police department. She was charged with child abuse for her treatment of children in her care. She openly admitted to placing kids in a pit in the backyard for punishment. The children were removed from the home and she was never allowed to have a foster home again.
2) Magistrelli chose to have a habitual sex offender nominate her at the Republican Assembly. We can argue all day if sex offenders can be cured or rehabilitated. But in this case great tolerance and hope for rehabilitation was once place with this specific pedophile and he repeated the act. He reoffended and another child was sexually assaulted.
I do not want Republicans candidates to have felons nominate them at the County Assembly. And I think it shows great mis judgement to to have someone who has a criminal record as extensive as this man nominate you.
Magistrelli had played us as fools and El Paso County will not support her. She is a fake.
The game is over.

REPORTED IN THE GAZETTE! 1995
Monitoring fails in flawed system, critics say this will be moot for the Magistrellis, should they lose their operating license for High Winds next month. The beleaguered couple can't understand the uproar about the pit. They say they only put children in the narrow, 5 i/2-foot-deep hole as a last resort
But state officials see it differently. And that led to the removal in September of the six foster children who had been living there.
The presence of the pit - discovered and reported by a job applicant - came as a surprise to Kathy Snell, director of the Pueblo County Department of Social Services. Although several of the children at High Winds had come from Pueblo County, social workers never knew children were being placed in the pit.

Re: “Targeted challenger”
Magistrelli needs to step down. She is not a good candidate for Republicans. She needs to go before she embarrasses those who supported her anymore.
