Karon: No need to be rude. We are LPR classmates, after all. It is not hypocritical to agree with some articles and opinions of a paper and disagree with others. Nor is it hypocritical to characterize a paper's editorial point of view--although in rereading my comments I have not characterized it at all.
You might call my opinion "inconsistent" if I agree with some of what the Indy writes and disagree with other parts--but you would have to assume that they were themselves completely consistent. I am nothing if not consistent: limited government, fiscal and personal responsibility and free markets.
That's why I support Owen Hill.

Before all the rest of Liston's supporters chime in with wild accusations, please read carefully Mr. Toro's statement:
"Residency is very vague; it depends on intent," says Toro. "[Hill] has a story that sounds plausible."
If a person who has not only read election law but undoubtedly understands it very well AND in not inclined to be kind to Republicans thinks there's no ethics problem, then I am inclined to agree.
It seems to me that just as Obama is using every means at his disposal to distract from his record, so also the Liston campaign is taking a page from Obama's book and trying to distract from their candidate's record.
Karol Scott: re CUT. Dig a little deeper, dear. The ratings are linked on CUT's home page, upper left. One click gets you to the highlights, two to the full report.
Seriously, Chet? I don't remember ther Indy asking any questions about Pete Lee's residency in 2010...
For the record, many months ago Owen told me exactly what you wrote above: that his family moved in with their in-laws and, as you found, put their home up for sale. To me, that's a pretty big sacrifice to make in order to have the opportunity to serve the people.
CEW exists only to make trouble for Republicans. That Larry Liston is siding with CEW just shows that he will go to any lengths to smear his opponent. It also shows why he must be replaced.
And David Williams was there throughout the proceedings and could have been asked to step in--I know because I was sitting next to him.
