Re: “Indy demands severance contracts from city

Tech, if you don't speed you will not need to worry about speed traps. You could always apply for a job working for the government. I applied for a job and I was hired. You could do the same thing. Like many private and government jobs, our wages are stagnant, we are doing more with less, and the stress level is very high, insurance premiums increase every year, but we are thankful that we have jobs and enjoy serving most of our customers even the people that thrive on being ill informed and negative. Have a great day!

Re: “Indy demands severance contracts from city

Tech, I do not know where you are getting you erroneous information, but I can guarantee that the majority of city employees do not get a "bonus." The salaries have been stagnant for several years. No one is complaining because with our current economic situation, we are happy to have jobs. I have not spoken with anyone who has a $50,000 bonus. There are higher level executives who may pocket that amount of money especially with Bach firing upper level employees and then buying them off with large sums of money. I can guarantee you that the average employee does get any bonus pay or extra compensation that you mentioned. I find it strange that you go after employees when the Mayor is wasting money right and left with the huge buyouts for employees that are fired. In the past you have also whined about employees using the internet and blogging while they are at work. If you looked at the date and time recorded on the blogs, you will see that the majority of the time it is after work hours. I would suggest that you do more research before spouting off with opinions that are not even close to the truth. Have a nice evening!

Kirk, thank you for removing the comment. Siggie has a long history of personal and malicious attacks whenever he disagrees with someone, which happens quite often. I appreciate the articles written by the Indy reporters. They are fair, balanced, transparent and accurate. It is refreshing to have a news source such as the Indy that is not afraid to investigate and report stories in a honest, thorough, an unbiased manner which may not always appeal to the readers and public officials. Keep up the good work!

Re: “The way of the gun

Robert Wyman, you are the perfect example of one of the over zealous NRA psychos. Your negative snarky tyrade clearly shows you are missing the point. Responsible gun ownership should not include assault rifles or similiar fire arms. Why would you need a fire arm like that? My guess is your are one of the ultraconservative paranoid republicans or tea party people who feel more important, powerful, and fullfilled because of their weapons and pro gun sentiments. You must be making up for another inadequacy in your life. I love Tosches comments he gets his point across using his snarky, sarcastic humor. Have a nice day!

Re: “The way of the gun

How many more mass shootings need to occur before we take significant action to prevent them? Why would the average citizen need an assault rifle? Why do people need to have their own private stockpile of guns? Why are assault available for purchase to the average citizen? There was Columbine, Sandy Hook, and too many more of this type of violent and tragic events that lead to way too many deaths. Paranoid people seem to think they are protecting themselves and their families by having their own private arsenal. To the people who own guns for their own protection, how many times have you actually used it to protect yourself? We received a gun as a unwelcome gift from a relative 25 years ago, my husband shot it once, and it has never been used since. Yet we have stayed healthy, we have not been robbed, attacked or assaulted. God forbid if something were to happen we have the one gun if we need to protect ourselves but we will have to find the bullets first. Bottom line, serious actions and legislation needs to be taken and implemented to help prevent further tragic events like this. We need to wake up and take measures to prevent this from happening again. The over zealous NRA pyschos needs to wake up and smell the coffee. You worship guns and do not seem to take into consideration the tragic events that occur because of ample access to assault weapons and other firearms. I understant there are many responsible and intelligent gun owners who do not have an emotional relationsiop with their guns and hopefully many more will join their ranks.
