There are other ambulance companies that can handle the neighboring communities, they are already staffed and based out of Colorado Springs. Rural/Metro Ambulance is in C/S and has the Kaiser/Permanente contract for the state and staffs 2 BLS/ALS rigs 0800-2000 and 1 BLS/ALS rig 1930-0730. They are contracted to cover Southern Colorado for 4+ years. We have a large presence in Aurora's 911, Edgewater 911, Wheatridge 911 as well general transport (GT) and wheeled transports (ATS). They would need EAS board's approval and a contract to operate within the county's 911 system?!
