Re: “The Gazette lifted our jail food story

Plagiarism, according to the Cambridge Dictionary, is "to use another persons idea or a part of that person's work and pretend that it is your own." (http://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/diction…)

In other words: stealing.

and it IS a big deal. How would you like someone taking your research essay, or song lyrics, or a novel you wrote, and publish them as their own? Profiting from your work without your permission? I'd be willing to bet you wouldn't care for that very much.

The Gazette may have a different motive for publishing a story than the Indy. Perhaps Mr. Anschutz has invested in a company under scrutiny and would like to spin the story a different way. Or perhaps to take credit for breaking an important story. It would not be the first time.

Re: “Lamborn reintroduces Broadmoor bill

Okay, Tannim. Id like to trade my 1/3 acre on the northeast side for 100 sq. ft. in the center of the Broadmoor Hotel Lobby. Sounds like great math to me!!!

Re: “Got the message?

The city has policies. They are not followed. The reason for not following them? We don't want to trouble the public with how the city is actually run: back channel deals, nepotism, and overpaid positions for unqualified employees. Didn't you get the memo?

Re: “'Fluff' news, safe and clean parks, pot and the press, and more

Dear Father Carmody,

I recently read your letter in the Colorado Springs Independent. I believe you are out of touch with church policy and teachings. This letter shows deep-rooted prejudice and irresponsible behavior unbecoming of a representative of the church
I have never read a more disrespectful, ill-conceived, unchristian letter. How dare you, especially as someone with the ironic title of "Respect Life Director", compare homosexuals with the Ku Klux Klan.
Ignoring, as you did, the fact that the pizza parlor owner used language almost exactly the same as the anti-catholic rhetoric you claimed your grandfather was a victim.

He, the owner-Kevin O'Connor, stated: "That lifestyle is something they choose. I choose to be heterosexual. They choose to be homosexual. Why should I be beat over the head to go along with something they choose?"

If he chose to be heterosexual, it makes me wonder what he was before, and how this choice was made available to him. No one else seems to have been given the option. Did you chose to be heterosexual, male, Catholic? I am heterosexual, no choice was made available to me.
He used the fear of retaliation by persons unknown to play victim and used the publicity to collect over $830,000 in donations from people who thought the threats were real (no evidence exists they ever received any credible threat) and some believed their pizza parlor had actually been burned down. If there is a modern day KKK, it is the ultra self-righteous pseudo-christians that condemn people for loving each other, a group in which you are now a charter member. Catholic Church policy states that while homosexuality is considered immoral, every homosexual person should be treated with respect and love.

Re: “Fed up!

Nothing between the ears but a Tammy Faye Baker make-up job, and that alone will get you elected in this county.

Re: “Philipps heads to NYT

Congratulations to Dave for accomplishing the journalism equivalent of being signed the Yankees. Dave's stories have been the only part of the gazette worth reading. Does that mean the gazette has to stop printing "Pulitzer Prize Winner" on their front page?

Re: “Watering might be allowed three days a week

It's all about paying for SDS on the backs of rate payers. Conserve too much water and they don't get their raises either
