How is this worse than eating an animal? Unless you're a vegetarian, you sanction much worse every day. Personally, I'd sacrifice a goat for a loved one anytime.

And anyway, you should note the most important but barely addressed point in the article. The 2013 NDAA requires DoD to stop using live animals and only use more expensive and less realistic simulation training.
