For some reason I don't think he owned that rifle. No one who put time, money, and effort in a weapon wants to see it destroyed. Also lets look at Psalms 144:1 "Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle."Maybe God wants his people to defend themselves? Just like any good father would.
