Hummmmm with all due respect, I have always read the CS Indy and enjoyed the balance that you all showed in being honest and fair. I along with what I see so for, the majority of the replys seem to see a " way out in left field " view of what our political process has been, coming from your paper on this recall issue. I really expected more form you in reguard to Morse's failings in his representing his constituants and our state.
Ralph, with all due respect, Sheriff Maketa is and always has been a stand out " Elected Public Servant ". Unlike the likes of our leadership in Washington and in our own state! I have followed the Sheriff from his beginning run for the office of El Paso Count Sheriff. I have been to a number of events he has spoken at and he has been very consistent in his stand and his statements. I have seen where he has stated a run for political office after his term limits with the Sheriff office are done, is not what he is looking at but also where he is not totally ruling it out! I guess the point I am trying to make is we need more leaders like the Sheriff to step and and run for / hold office and represent us like we expect to be represented.
As much of a baseball / sports fan as I am, Security Service Field works just fine for our city! Why try to fix something that isn't broken. I would love a downtown ballpark but its far from what we need first and foremost. I applaud you Mr. Routon for pointing out Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and The USOC being here and promoting what our city is really about! Just my opinion, thanks for the venue to vent.
