I think you missed the part about mouthwash. Or was that just more uninformed bs I smelled?
By some of these comments, it sounds like someone couldn't be happy anywhere. GMF is an awesome place, with some local government issues negatively impacting the local taven's business. It still is by far the best community in El Paso County to live to be able enjoy the natural surroundings with a populace of mostly great and friendly people.
A pit? You must live in one awesome place to make such a comment and since there's Tejon in your name, I am pretty certain that is far from true.
Maybe, and it seems pretty likely by your posts, you're just not a very likeable person. Don't blame GMF because you're not popular. Start with mouthwash, lower your voice some, try to engage in more pleasant conversation, and recognize that your life probably isn't anything to brag about.
Anyone else who isn't a killjoy, come to GMF, bring a designated driver and go 5 under the speed limit and enjoy a great community.
The problem with the bar isn't the food or the new look; it is the town itself that just isn't what it used to be. Sure the past owners of the bar had some failings but people kept coming until the local police force seemed to take it upon themselves to pull over everybody that came to town.
Considering that the local government only seems to exist to try to undermine each other and consistently embarrass the townspeople with petty squabbles, nothing is likely to get fixed anytime soon. Then there's the fact the local restaurants in the area have plummeted in quality (The Pantry excluded) and so now there is really no reason to come to Green Mountain Falls anymore, and therefore no reason to go to the once great bar in an otherwise downward spiral of a town. Without the consumers, of course the portions for food at the bar are going to dwindle. The Pine Gables may rise again someday, but only if the town does as well and not only do tourists come back but so do all of the locals who used to use the place as a playground and who've found other things to do for the last 2 or 3 years rather than sit in empty bars, eat bad 'cuisine', and then get a ticket on the way home.
