Re: “City's engineering department is one-third smaller than it was in '09, and still losing talent

This article is fair and balanced. The City of Colorado Springs is one of the most beautiful settings in the country...nestled into the loving arms of the majestic Pikes Peak, surrounded by the best nature has to offer. I sincerely hope the citizens pull together to collaborate on a global solution to the massive infrastructure needs.

Re: “City picks its friends, but may be making a strategic error

Dear Mr. Siggie,
As a card carrying Republican I have been called worse names. Sticks and stones...However you wish to characterize me is fine with me. If it makes you feel better to disparage my character then please have at it, sir. You seem like a very nice gentleman, albeit blinded by shiny objects.

Or perhaps, to state it more eloquently, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Re: “City picks its friends, but may be making a strategic error

Dear Mr. Siggie,
Having just recently left the CITY organization, I can attest that your assertion that the Indy has NEVER written a fair report on City goings on is incorrect. Several pieces have been absolutely factual. I am a living witness to the truth. I would testify to that under oath.

Re: “New public works chief cashed in on retirement

Just to set the record straight, when I applied for the position of Public Works Director/City Engineer I met both the minimum qulaifications as well as the desirable attributes one often seeks in this sort of position. I hold a BS in Mechancial Engineering, an MBA, am licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ohio and Colorado, and have substantial public and private sector experience in the area of engineering and public works. Prior to the City of Colorado Springs I was the Eagle County Engineer, Fort Collins City Engineer, and Capital Projects Manager for the Water District in Vail. All that aside, the City has the right to choose whomever they believe to be the most qualified candidate for any poition. Formal professional education, professional licensures, and experience does not always produce the right candidate for any given position. I wish Mr. Lethbridge and the City of Colorado Springs the best of luck as they move forward.
