Apparently, according to Mr. Brown, if one is a supporter of Jim Reid a hidden agenda is required AND you must have a permit. I'm sure I have neither. Nevertheless...
Regarding "not even remotely qualified", the statutory qualifications for office of the sheriff are found in C.R.S. 30-10-501.5. I would guess that almost all of us participating in this thread are "remotely qualified".
Mr. Reid is uniquely qualified to be the next sheriff of El Paso County. I'll leave the reading of his professional qualifications up to you. They can be found at http://www.jimreidforsheriff.com/.
Those qualifications only give indicators of a leader. Only when one experiences leadership in action, in real life situations, does one begin to realize they are in the company of a true leader. I have had the pleasure of observing Mr. Reid in a number of these situations over the years.
Mr. Reid is professional, intelligent, personable, experienced, humble and more than qualified.
As a native of Colorado Springs, who has dedicated over two decades of my life to public service, I don't want the sheriff to just have indicators on paper of leadership. The sheriff needs to BE a leader. Jim Reid has been, and will continue to be, a demonstrated leader - the right choice.
