Re: “Good news, bad news in No Man's Land

I first came to live in Manitou in 1975, the roads are in the worst shape I have ever seen. They are extremely dangerous to anyone on a bicycle or motorcycle and will do damage to your car if you drive in the regular lane paths which are riddled with unending potholes. 100% of this decay has occurred under the watch of Mayor Marc Snyder and an incompetent department head Bruno. It has not been a severe winter or any extraordinary weather event that has caused this issue. Just poor planning by those two pathetic leaders. Manitou's street department should be fixing potholes 24/7 to make the roads SAFE ... just SAFE , but they are not on the job. Instead WE will be filled with excuses and no action ! Dear MR. Mayor (our Crystal Hills City Council...ignorant of Manitou's real downtown life!) and Department heads .... please take a bicycle ride on the roads you are to maintain...let's see if you have the courage to risk your own life !!

Re: “Not everyone loves a parade

Manitou residents and outsiders alike enjoy these festivals which only shut off traffic in town short term. They definitely represent the colorful spirit of the mountains and Manitou. CS Indy you get an F for thinking Tim Haas represents anything about Manitou. He inherits daddy's business so full of tourist crap their is no reason for a local citizen to ever buy any of his wares. Tim is so bad at picking product mix one of his stores has been up for sale for months. Tom doesn't represent Manitou at all. He personally started the very divisive anti-retail pot campaign which he lost 66% to 33%. SO dear CS Indy of you are going to quote anybody about Manitou , you pick a horrible retailer who inherited his businesses and could care less about the locals....shame on you !

Re: “Manitou's deep marijuana divide

I've lived in the Pikes Peak region for 39 years, most of that a homeowner in Manitou. Manitou bleeds its economic strength to Colorado Springs, meaning I can't buy a new car or tire in Manitou. All of those sales go to Colorado Springs, I can't buy a board of wood or a screw for my home in Manitou, I can't buy a computer...stereo....TV....washing machine.....Cell phone...Men's suit.....a pair of shoes or sneakers.......NADA. I can't even buy a new bicycle in Manitou - all of those sales tax dollars get bled off to Colorado Springs. Well the retail Marijuana store can reverse that trend with a $100,000 / month contribution to our city's sales tax coffers. That is humongous folks an absolute huge percentage of the city budget to come from ONE STORE !!! That's $1.2 million/year to the city from one trouble-free store. Our city budget is only $12-13 million per year and this harmless industry can help our town a lot. It's time to stop the inaccurate fear mongering and look at the economic FACTS ! PROVEN ACCURATE FACTS !

Re: “Stormwater measure draws $200K

Colorado Springs/El Paso County Developer impact fees are 70% less than the average of the front range cities. Source August 26th 2003 CS City Council meeting. If they simply raised the fee's equal to other front range cities we would have no backlog of drainage and the continuous funds for future projects.

Re: “Tennessee man says quality of Colorado Springs weed 'is an absolute fraud'

Hey....Jeff and Kathy, MS is caused by a long term highly acidic diet. If you want to stabilize and cure Kathy you have to learn about the body's alkalinity and it will take a plant based alkaline diet. Read the pH Miracle by Dr. Robert O Young and cure her. MJ will not cure MS alkalinity will !!!

Re: “City releases final C4C resolution

Let's see.....whom owns most of the land where the new downtown (baseball....no) multi-use stadium .....the Jenkins family and Norwood Development. ? FOLLOW THE MONEY ! Let's see the Jenkins Family (Norwood Development) personally financed the strong Mayor initiative to the tune of $900K. And now ???? In line to receive the biggest apple this fiasco will produce, the sports stadium. For their $900k investment let's see how many tens of millions the Mayor gives them back ! How much you wanna bet the Jenkins and their cronies are the Mayors appointees ! And this is a developer that could finance the project themselves with no outside help .FOLLOW THE MONEY!!!

Re: “Biz group gives C4C a thumbs-up

Who is in the drivers seat on C4C local corruption at its worst, no cooperation, no openness with the public , no honest representation of the city's needs, no input except from this mysterious group of corrupt locals.
