Mayor Bach also uses the CSPD whenever he wants, like when someone he dislikes is in his office building. We were escorted out of the building, not by the security guards that work there, but rather by 2 on duty CSPD officers Bach had called!
Mayor Bach can NOT be trusted! Listen to his own words where he states this project is dependent on City Council action, not his own!
1:50min; Bach: “Keith, I am gonna ask you and Dennis Hisey to meet with me if you’re here next week, or certainly the week after, and talk about moving forward on governance for City for Champions. There are some requirements in the state law and I intend that that will involve certainly instrumentally City Council and the County Commissioners, with me in terms of figuring that out, as to how we want that to look. Then there will need to be some subgroups including probably Sports Authority that will have to determine, I will be calling you on that, appreciate your time there.”
10:53min; Bach: “I am hearing that Council doesn’t trust me, why specifically? And what can I do to regain that trust?”
17:50; Bach: “Again, I wanna know specifically what the concerns are? I keep hearing ‘checks and balances’ , well what do you mean specifically about that? What does that really mean, does that mean that I have acted improperly or that council wants more control? Let’s be honest, let’s have a frank conversation about that!”
19:40; Bach: “I will go on record again Andy, I would not support any kind of tax increase to support City for Champions, that’s not in the cards. If the city’s going to need to borrow any money to be repaid out of the general fund, City Council’s decision, but I would ask them to consider asking the voters to make that decision. I think over these coming months we will see a more detailed performa. Its really on the sports complex, when you really drill down into this, I think is where the public funding is going to be needed.
20:58 Bach: “ In the end, its city council’s decision. This is going nowhere if city council doesn’t approve an extension of the Urban Renewal Authority, in downtown Colorado Springs. If it doesn’t approve tax increment financing for the 2 downtown venues, and if it does not approve having the voters decide if there is gonna be any general fund money involved.”
