You make an excellent point about there being a whole bunch of meetings to 'listen', community input committees padded with the Mayor minons and PR specialists who 'collect' ideas and concerns that do nothing other than claim the citizens were involved while the plans are laid, the concerns not addressed and we are told you had your chance because there were meetings.

The only way to 'crack' the 2 party system is stop the money going into politics. Both parties are about $ and favors. Some candidates locally have not taken PAC money for a reason. Until the Koch like rich elite, citizens united and lobby money is taken out of politics a 3rd party never has a chance at the presidential level.
