In August, CDOT approved $3.75 million for a planning and environmental study. Lundeen said that analysis has been rolling along for a couple months, but will not wrap up until at least May 2018. A second study, required under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), will follow the first and have to be complete before construction can begin.
