I'm sorry to see Mr. Pico succumbing to shadowy, developer money as he knows these same developers, most notably Nor'wood, want to change the Banning Lewis Ranch annexation agreement to put more of the development burden on the backs of the taxpayers. CSF's slate of candidates will not be the voice of us, the citizens, but the voice of irresponsible and greedy developers.
The pillars Ms. Lathen leans on for support are not the voice of a 'wide range of citizens' but only a few, wealthy developers who want development funded on the backs of taxpayers and utilities ratepayers. CSF and their endorsed city council candidates will never support the many voices of Together for Colorado Springs, as those broad-based, community voices represent the people, not the elite.
Please don't let developers like Nor'wood BUY this election. Lynette Crow is 100% funded by developers associated with Colorado Springs Forward, which is really just disgusting.
CSF supporting its chosen, insider candidates, funding their campaigns with insider, developer dollars, all to get council members who will support Nor'wood's agenda to put the cost of development, in both downtown and Banning Lewis Ranch, on the backs of the taxpayers.
LART dollars may have previously been used to assist tourist-related, public projects like the Summit House and pickleball courts, but it would be unprecedented and irresponsible for elected officials to allow public dollars to be spent on this private project, especially when many public amenities, like our parks, that bring countless tourists to our region, remain drastically underfunded.
If Nor'wood wants its Olympic Museum, then it should pay for it.
The same 20 people seem to run everything in this town. All of this crony, insider baseball needs to stop.
The G addressed the stormwater fee question yesterday. At least one council member is ready to move on this issue...now.
